Established in 2011.

Our new location in Old Sacramento opened June of 2026. Panoply Fine Art started off as a Pop Up Gallery in Lafayette, CA in 2011 featuring the art of Tom Matousek and other San Francisco Bay Area fine artists. The gallery was not named Panoply Fine Art at the time, but hosted "Panoply" events featuring spoken word art by Jeff Reed, the art of Tom Matousek, the music of Forrest Reed and, of course, wine. "Panoply" was first used by poet and writer, Jeff Reed, and refers to a complete, magnificent display, array, or collection of items, often referring to a wide-ranging assortment. Originating from the Greek word for a full suit of armor (panoplia), it figuratively describes a splendid, comprehensive, or protective covering of things. This term was used to highlight the creative contributions of all artists involved with these events. We are using the name Panoply in honor of the events we held at our first galleries, in honor of Jeff, and in honor of all the wonderful artists involved in our new gallery.
